About Us

The Peace Appeal Foundation was launched with a mandate from five Nobel Peace Laureates, Adolfo Esquivel, Desmond Mpilo Tutu, Frederik Willem de Klerk, Mairead Maguire, and Nelson Mandela, to provide leadership in support of the International Decade for a Culture of Peace and Non-Violence for the Children of the World.

Since the late 1990s, the Appeal has operated as a network of a diverse range of social entrepreneurs, conflict resolution professionals, leaders from both business and government as well as academics and others dedicated to the cause of peace. Our roster of associates and partners draws on individuals and institutions with deep experience in the diverse sectors underlying complex peacebuilding processes.
